Meet Jacob

Jacob Yarber, LCSWA, LCASA

I support adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and life transitions with a thoughtful, relational approach. I’m especially drawn to identity exploration—helping you better understand who you are beyond expectations, including questions of purpose, meaning, and your connection to self.

I work with adults (18+) who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them or who are moving through significant life changes.

I work with adults (18+) who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them or who are moving through significant life changes. I offer an affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients and believe therapy can be a place to slow down, get curious, and reconnect with yourself in a more grounded and authentic way.

I offer an affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients and believe therapy can be a place to slow down, get curious, and reconnect with yourself in a more grounded and authentic way.

My approach integrates EMDR-informed care with elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), alongside evidence-based practices like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I tailor therapy to you—balancing insight, skill-building, and deeper processing work.

Outside of the therapy room, I love traveling and experiencing different cultures. There’s nothing quite like the energy of a Broadway show, and I’m always happy to get lost in a good book. You can usually find me in the kitchen baking with my stand mixer—or fully embracing spooky season when fall rolls around.

I believe…

you deserve to be your authentic self, that feeling your emotions does not mean you have to live in your emotions, every part of you is welcome and deserves to be heard, you can carry painful experiences and learn to live a life aligned with what’s important to you, that your body holds on to painful experiences and when it speaks it’s important to listen, that mint flavored ice cream is essentially toothpaste for dessert, it’s never too early to decorate for Halloween, Nicole Kidman is now a staple for the movie goer’s experience (thanks AMC), and its always okay to splurge on popcorn and icees
